A beautiful clarity of colour, a polished redwood with an orange rim; 30% opaque. Powerful on the nose with almond paste and orange water. A lovely texture and weight on the palate with an attractive thick texture. Soft toffee and sharp passion fruit combine on a palate that grows and flourishes. The powerful acidity balances the fruit nicely. A big kumquat bitter-sweet aftertaste and a long bitter Seville orange marmalade finish. 92/100. Decanted 1 hour.

Sandeman Cask 33. Pale orange colour, 10% opaque. Palate very sweet, melons (hello Derek), with an excellent refreshing mint note throughout. Very very long. Quinine too, perhaps. Truly a summer afternoon Port.

It is a well made lovely drink, but not one that is really my taste in Port.

This is a Port that is growing me (I wasn't particularly certain at first) and is light, clean and refreshing with citrus overtones that even I was able to detect!
