D70 was a close second on the night to the N50. I spent more time drinking and enjoying this port than writing notes, but recoded powerful fruits, a big taste and a strong if slightly hot alcohol finish. The D70 was still youthful in colour and I think this bottle would have lived on for years more. A great wine and my thanks to Derek for sharing on my first

For what it is worth, I tasted a D70 at the BBR Six Decades of Port Declarations event on St George's Day 2015 and that bottle had a more tawny look and taste, with strong fruits coming through and a long smooth finish.
