Noticed slight seepage from bottle so a local Scottish emergency was declared.
Bottle stood upright until friends arrived (2 days) then decanted. Clear bronze red with lighter edge in colour with 90% opacity. Once opened up (1-2 hours) aroma of figs and raisins. Complex long lovely taste of salted figs, dried fruit with a slight peppery finish.
Ranked 4th out of the 14 bottles of VP I have ever tasted.

Sounds delicious! A quick question about your opacity description - is 90% meaning it is a dark purple, near black non see-through beast, or at the other end of the spectrum - almost a clear liquid?

It was very clear. Should that be 90% translucency and 10% opacity? Still new to this!

I make that 10% opacity :D
fully (100% opaque) being totally non transparent.

I'm a fan of the Ferreira 1963. I find it's a mature and tasty glass of port. Nice thing to be "forced" to open to deal with the cork starting to leak.

I've never tried the 1963, but have enjoyed all the Ferreira I have tried.
Unfortunately it is not a shipper that we see a lot of in the UK (or at least, not that I have seen much of).
