1985 Taylor

Post by LGTrotter »

Opened the first of four bought from Tesco. Rather a speedy turnaround for me, I usually leave them for at least six months. Anyway, it has a beautiful colour, much darker than the one on the port walk last year. A bit of brown on the rim. It has only just been opened and there is little on the nose; dusty plum, decidedly dry fruits, sloe, that sort of thing. The palate is excellent; sleek, fat and that dry tannin/acid on the end which gives it a lovely lift on the finish. It has a delicacy which could be construed as watery, but really isn't. Young, but hitting it's stride quite nicely.

I shall give it some time and retaste.
