Admirable restraint. Surely a taste is required to check for taint? :D

Was in a bit of a hurry, so no opportunity! Long decant on F85 is a good idea

F85 Not as good as bottles I have enjoyed before. Solid, fruity and still a very good wine. Very deep, dense purple colour and powerful fruits, good balance and med/long finish. I had it as equal with the Warre and Ramos Pinto, but it was probably the WOTN that showed in overall voting. I feel it was an average F85 that won over lots of other average 85 showings. 92 points

Deep red, a wonderful colour looking to be young but not in early youth; 90% opaque. Warm and spiced fruit on the nose - very Christmassy. Sweet fruity entry with soft charcoal tannins on the mid-palate. Good structure, with lovely young fruit wrapped around it. A touch of heat in the aftertaste, which gives way to a lovely fruit finish of great length. Lovely port with a great future ahead of it. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

F85. Dark dark red, 70% opaque. Delicious plum fruit, and extremely long. But lighter than it should be.
