1970 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at CSD's Proper Emergency.

Bought from the Boot & Flogger. Bottled by Percy Fox. Deep red and mature in colour, with a firmly pigmented centre; 60% opaque. A subdued nose with a little floral cranberry. Rich and deep on entry with an intense, fruit flavoured palate that comes with generous supporting acidity which delivers life and zing. A lovely combination on the palate. A huge aftertaste blossoms in the mouth with lots of lively mandarin with hints of lavender flower perfume. There is a touch of woody licorice root in the cranberry flavoured finish of good length. This is very tasty port. 92/100. Drunk 14-Oct-15. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
