1981 Warre LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red but with a copper-brown core; 90% opaque. Sweet fruit nose, faint blackberry fruit but with a touch of herbaceousness. Smooth sweet entry with an interesting strawberry and red licorice - even with a hint of gentle tannin. Dry licorice root aftertaste. Lovely sweet finish with great length. 91/100. Drunk 24-Nov-15. Decant N/K.

Drunk at Otto's on 24 November 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
