2011 Berry Brothers

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A blend confirmed by Charles Symington as being unique to Berry Brothers, while based on lotes from the Graham quintas this is not the same blend as bottled under the Graham label.

Deep purple with a purple rim. Youthful violets on the nose, expressive and full of purple fruit. Sweet fruit on the palate, round and ripe. Generous tannins provide structure but never overwhelm. The purity of fruit is just amazing while the balancing acidity provides a lovely cleanliness to the palate. This is great port, drinking nicely now and has not yet begun to close up. 91/100.

Tasted at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 26 November 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
