Deep red, still hinting at magenta on the rim. Opaque at the centre. A lovely nose of boysenberries and blackcurrants. The blackcurrants dominate the entry with gentle acidity and strong tannins coming through the balance the palate. A lovely, uplifting florality to the fruit that changes from blackcurrant to redcurrant. This wine has a huge palate presence. A chewy aftertaste with lots of grip in the cheeks and a great finish round off this port. This will be a brilliant wine given a decade or two in the cellar. 93/100.
Tasted at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 26 November 2015.
