Taylor Fladgate nailed this vintage, for me this is the stand-out port from 1992. This wine was such a dark red as to almost be black still, opaque at the centre. The nose was faint but came across as fragrant wood and incense. The palate was full of concentrated fruit, but still closed and threatening in its power promising deep, sweet fruit and revealing powerful tannins. The palate presence grows and grows with the tannins never giving up. Chalky, chewy black licorice dominates the aftertaste before an explosion of flavours on the finish. This is a stunning and incredibly powerful port. 96/100.

Tasted at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 26 November 2015.

80% opacity, deep red. Lively fruit nose. In the mouth great balance, fruit and a tannic edge. This is fabulous port.
