Deep red, hinting at having reached maturity and with an opaque centre. Fruity nose with generous cherry mixed with a crème brulee hit. Baked cherries are the first impression on the palate, bringing mouthfilling levels of fruit but with lots of spice and gentle dry tannins. There is a lovely fragrance to the mid-palate. The aftertaste is exquisite, a quick flash of heat then a long and fabulous finish. This port is continuing to live up to the reputation it developed in childhood. 95/100.
Tasted at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 26 November 2015.
