50% opacity, dark red. Quite dry and tannic mid to late palate. Good balance, plenty of fruit here. A fine bottle of F70, but not as stellar as some tasted recently.

English bottled. Deep red, mature in colour but not evolved; 70% opaque. Powerful nose of meat juices and fresh crushed cherries. A touch harsh on the palate with fresh, chewy fruit with lots of red bitter endives and dark cherries - sweet and chocolately. Lovely palate development with goods layering. Chewy black chocolate and candied cherries. A long finish, sweet and very persistent, with a delicious red jelly finish. 93/100.

F70 The wine of the night for me. A wonderful fruity nose. Deep crimson in colour. Fantastic big fruits on the taste, but very smooth and a long fruity finish with just the right balance. Less heat showing than the bottles from the 60s on the night, wrapped up in that fine fruity balance, that had a wonderful long finish. More please!
