Decanted 7pm Sunday. A very minuscule sample had a palate of red cherries, some dry bitterness, but overall quite closed. Given twenty-four hours this might be quite good. We shall learn, tomorrow.
Scant (=zero) notes on this one. From memory, nice drinking, a little stewey perhaps, but lots of fruit. Sort of gives the impression this would not be one for the long term, although it's only 19 years old, so who knows!
Deep red, opaque except on the medium width rim. Youthful port on the nose, lively and full of stewed fruit. Gentley textured on the palate with generous levels of round, sweet bramble fruit offset by some slightly bitter rose-hip. Great development on the palate. A burst of heat on the aftertaste, followed by a generous finish of lovely bramble fruit. This is a very nice port which is drinking very well today and reinforces my experience that the 1997 vintage is now drinking with pleasure. 91/100. 08-Feb-16. Decanted 26 hours.

D97 Inky black with 85%+ opacity. Big fruits on the nose and the first taste. Very sweet and youthful. Very young compared to the other ports on the night, but more advanced than I expected it to be.
