2009 Quinta do Noval LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled unfiltered in 2015. Deep purple colour with a narrow rim. Restrained on the nose with soft, gentle black and purple fruit. Powerful entry with a big impact, bringing fruit and round tannins. Lovely mid-palate fruit, tasting of soft raspberries offset by a green peppercorn tannin but all with a hint of floral perfume. Green and chewy aftertaste and a long green bell-pepper finish. Balanced and fruity, this is very enjoyable. 89/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
