1983 Warre
Deep red with plenty of brick; lots of fine sediment and slightly darker than the Dow 1983 drunk alongside. Again rather medicinal on the nose with antiseptic and menthol. Lovely palate, well pronounced and with lots of red licorice. Sweet and very inviting; elegant and balanced. Wonderful sweet fruity finish. 94/100. 17-Mar-16.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
