Brick red and 95% opaque. A gorgeous nose of ripe fruit, sweet and lightly spiced. Full of flavour on entry but with good acidity and sparkling tannins. The mature fruit-led flavours grow on the palate and preceed a delicious raspberry and cola finish. Great mature port that is drinking really well and it was quite a surprise to find out how good this port is showing at the moment. 92/100. 04-May-16

Hard to follow the 1994 but I have enjoyed this one a couple of times over the last few years. A sleeper.

I haven't had it recently, but had it several times many years ago. A very nice Port, and I have a 6-pack so I'm glad to hear it's aging well!

But... mature? At 21? I generally wouldn't call a quality VP mature until at least 30...

The '95s as a whole seem to be entering maturity and, as I feel I always mention, can offer great value in the US for something in the "ready to drink" category.

My experience with port leads me to believe that it goes through many cycles in its life. 2-3 years ago the '98s were drinking very nicely, but not so today.

Right now I completely agree with Brad. If you want good value for money current drinking the '95s are a great option.

In May of 2015 my Port Club had a 1995 horizontal. They are drinking well right now, many in the good category with the exception of Churchill Q da Agua Alta (poor) and Dow Q do Bomfim (OK). The WOTN was Graham's Malvedos. Further, while drinking well now I did note a few had more upside potential. As to the Vesuvio, it was up at the top of the class.

As to pricing I paid $28 to $61 per bottle, most as one offs or small lots, so quite reasonable. Also an excellent choice for a newbie who wants to try a VP with some aging on it without breaking the bank.

I'm drinking a 1995 Taylor QdTF. Drinking very well. It will get much better but it is currently rather good.
