NV Warre Otima 20YO (bottled 2015)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Drunk at lunch at Bomfim. Polished red-brown, 50% opaque. Smooth toffee and walnuts on the nose. Walnuts on the palate with quince following. Great concentration with grapefruit oil bitterness offsetting the treacle sweetness. Powerful and concentrated. Big burnt sugar aftertaste with a big and long grapefruit and caramelised sugar finish. Lovely sipping port. 89/100. 26-Jun-16. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
