2013 O-Port-Unidade
Following a post last year where I mentioned finding a cork branded on the end in an Eira Vehla '43, it made me smile to find the following in an O-Port-Unidade 2013 which I opened at the weekend.
The 'A' is marked on both ends of the cork; I'm sure this has nothing to do with Axel's involvement with the creation of this port
The port itself is obviously still very young, currently still full of fruit though quite soft, lovely flavour, very smooth and certainly very drinkable. I don't normally open port anywhere near this young, so it may well be a decade or two before I open another bottle. As am unable to attend tonight's tasting on medical grounds, I will instead be toasting everyone from afar with some of the rest of the Unidade '13.

Probably ahead of the team, but am currently enjoying my ribeye and port. Tasting note for this evening:
Decant + 72hr: Silky smooth, hints of raspberry and gentle plums. Soft tannins underlying, good depth and length, slight pepper on finish. Lovely.

A pity you couldn't join us last night but I'm pleased that the port you opened showed well and went beautifully with the steak (the steaks were rather fine last night).
Lots of photos were taken and will be passed to you in due course.
