1999 Quinta do Crasto LBV

This is an unfiltered LBV - bottled 2003
Youthful color but not very concentrated. Very pleasant nose with sweet cherries, prunes and a touch of fat/butter. Some nice flavours of red currant, cherries and licorice, but overall lacking in structure - a bit diluted and a bit green. Rather short, but pleasant finish (mostly licorice).
Certainly not in the league of the superb 1997 LBV and the very 1996. A pleasant drinker, but disappointing for the estate. 83 points.
