Mature red colour, with a lovely appearance; 80% opaque. A lovely nose, mature and sweet with generous levels of fruit that combine to give a delightful nose. Sweet on entry with lovely poise, generous fruit and powerful tannins. This is mature but still with youthful hints on the palate. The aftertaste is floral and fruity with a burst of heat before a long and chewy finish. This is really nice, great port. Served blind this was guessed to be Fonseca 1977. 92/100. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
