A few of us gathered in the B&F to do the obvious, sighted. Perhaps a photograph of the glasses will be used on the cover of The Book.

Ni77. Dark-ish red, 60% opaque. Very big. Really big. Raspberries and blackberries and sweetness and other dark fruit. Big from start to finish, but not quite fully mature. Wonderful juice. Everybody’s WOTN.

Medium to light red in colour; flavour defied description for me, but absolutely delicious and very more-ish. WOTN for me, as well as unanimously for the group, and rightly so. Superb port.

From a Bordeaux bottle. A ruddy red colour, 40% opaque. A gentle perfumed nose, elegant and attractive. Sweet and balanced entry - a lovely elegance to the wine; balanced and delicious. Wonderful elegant and lively aftertaste and a great finish. Very lovely wine. 93/100. Decanted 15 hours.

Anyone have a pic of the bottle? I didn't know Niepoort used Bordeaux bottles in the late 70's

Thanks. So it's a regular Port bottle and not a Bordeaux bottle. They also did some of the 1970 VP in the black bottle with that paper label as well.
