A bottle resting in the Cockburn cellars acquired as part of the company by Symington Family Estates. White vintage port bottled in 1949.

Pale in colour, the colour of dark honey with a green tinged rim. Almond paste on the nose, showing some VA that is typical of a colheita but also with a slight hint of bottle stink. Very thick texture on entry, sweet but with good acidity. The acidity takes over and reveals quince and grapefruit flavours. The grapefruit continues on the aftertaste and finish. The finish is huge and full of bitter lime and grapefruit oils and simply lasts forever. Served blind this was guessed to be Dow 1962 colheita. 91/100. Drunk 25-Sep-16.
