An ex cellars Tregnum. Mature red appearance with a bricking centre, 70% opaque. Sweet and mature nose with ripe fruit perfectly spiced to bring out the best in the wine. Lots of complexity just in the smell. Perfect ripe fruit on entry, slightly dry and full of spices and a hint of tannins. Air on the palate makes the flavour explodes and reveals layer after layer. A touch of alcoholic heat on the aftertaste before a huge and very long finish of burnt cranberry sets in and lasts for several minutes. An astonishing port. Served blind this was guessed to be Dow 1966. 95/100. Drunk 25-Sep-16. Decanted 3 hours.
