Reputed to be a blend of the Taylor, Fonseca and Graham vintages from this year (or at least, in one source that I've been able to find), this bottle was acquired from an auction in October 2007 and was intended for fairly immediate drinking.

Vintage port. Dark centre, slightly orange rim. Nose of richly spiced fruitcake with a distinct tone of tinned mandarin segments. Elegant, dry entry with fruit coming through in the mid-palate as flavours of redcurrants and raisins. A glow on the aftertaste and then a long, tingling aftertaste of dried dark cherries. Elegant, lovely and a lot of life yet left in this port. 6/6 or 92/100. Decanted for 3 hours and drunk on 28/1/08.

An interesting addition given the speculation around it's make-up. AHB seemed to have a better experience than I did with this one.

My TN says: "Dark. Anicede on the nose. Very thick but quite hot"

I rated this 13th out of 14. AHB had it at 5th.

I remember enjoying this and this is one of the ports that demonstrate the point I have made in the Review thread in that there were no real disappointments in this line-up, with the exception of the probably flawed bottle of Warre.

Thanks to AHB for adding this to the line-up. A very interesting experience and the first Avery's I have had.
