2007 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

2,500-3,000 cases made. The growing season was characterised by cool nights and a long season.

Dark red with a narrow magenta rim. Sweet purple plum fruit with hints of esteva perfume. Incredible elegance on entry with sweet plummy fruit showing immediately but air on the palate unleashes big tannins and hints at the powerful acidity. The whole impression combines to deliver a huge mouthful, great and impressive. The finish is huge, chewy and full of tannin and fruit. This has decades ahead of it yet. 95/100. Drunk 26-Sep-16. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
