2005 Quinta do Noval Silval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red with some softening in the tone to a dark strawberry; just opaque in the centre. A wonderful nose, soft and fruity and full of sweet bramble jelly. On the palate this is poised and elegant. Gentle tannins support the tightly focused fruit, which is lively and minty and full of dark chocolate. The aftertaste is refreshing and zingy - like a faceful of seawater when surfing. 92/100. Drunk 26-Sep-16. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
