NV Quevedo Crusted 2012

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Served blind by Christian Gollnick at Quevedo's winery. Deep red and young looking with an opaque centre and a narrow rim. Lots of fruit on the nose together with some green leaves and capiscum. Plenty of fruit on the palate then a big wave of tannins; the fruit is sweet and pure but the tannin load is powerful. The fruit leads on the aftertaste and culminates in a long and chewy blackberry finish. This was guessed to be a Canais 2008 single quinta port. 87/100. Drunk 28-Sep-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
