Drunk at the restaurant Blini in Vila Nova de Gaia. Deep red in colour, 70% opaque. Rich and sweet on the nose but with a faint hint of oxidation. Ripe fruit at first then a fierce dry core with a lot of acidity wrapped up in a lovely thickly textured wine. Big on the palate with lots of spice. A little heat shows on the aftertaste then a very big and fruit driven finish quickly takes over. Good port. 92/100. Drunk 30-Sep-16. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
