2014 Churchill

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Youthful purple in colour. A dirty spirit and almonds smell in the glass - do Churchill use a different spirit from most other people which takes time to integrate properly? Neutral entry, quite dry in style with modest tannins and modest fruit on the mid-palate. Chewy fruit salad chews on the finish with a nice dose of pepper to liven it up. Rather a delicate and light style without the exuberant fruit normally found in newly released VP. 84-86/100. Drunk 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
