2012 Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2016. Deep red with a purple rim, 99% opaque. Little on the nose, perhaps a hint of fruit. Gentle slightly baked fruit flows onto the palate bringing sweet redcurrant with it. The mid-palate is more lively with a better balance showing jammy fruit and barely perceptible tannins. The fruit is balanced nicely by the acidity and leads to a pleasant, lingering and fruity finish. This is a good LBV to drink young but not one to keep and mature. 86/100. Drunk 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
