2011 Quinta do Sagrado Nova

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep magenta colour with an opaque centre. Soft on the nose with harsh black fruit and a rhubarb astringency. Powerful entry with primary fruit and green, assertive tannins fighting for supremacy. A big mouthful with plenty of acidity and a good chewiness that mellows with patience. There is a dry harshness to the fruit which continues on to the aftertaste - but there is also much promise for the future. This may just be starting to shut down and lose its initial balance. 89/100. 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
