2014 Quinta de Sao Jose

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep purple colour. Sea-sides and fresh toast on the nose. Modest fruit on entry, pure and clean with a lovely floral tone. Good - if modest - tannins support a fruit focused palate with the fruit at the end being very impressive. Slow to develop, but a lovely contribution to the ports made in the vintage. Hollow aftertaste and a slightly soapy finish. 84-86/100. Tasted 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
