Golden red in colour, 30% opaque. Slightly alcoholic on the nose, slightly smelly like coal tar. Soft on the palate with powerful acidity highlighting lovely toasted caramel essence and hazelnut paste; deliciously smooth with good complexity. A big dose of orange marmalade on the aftertaste leads to a lingering finish of great length. 88/100. Drunk 10-Nov-16. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
