1983 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

An attractive mature red colour, 70% opaque. Sweet and restrained fruit on the nose, raspberries mixed with light icing sugar candiness. Lovely to sniff. Poised and balanced entry with sweet fruit; the mid-palate continues the balance with the tannins having mostly faded and the structure coming from a very pleasant acidic core that will continue to support the wine for many years. There is some heat on the aftertaste before a long and delicious finish takes over. This is a wonderful and elegant port. 92/100.

Drunk at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 24 Nov 2016.
