2011 Warre LBV (filtered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Filtered, bottling date not given. Offered at the BA Lounge in Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Dark red, the colour of black cherry juice; opaque. Pleasant on the nose but rather thin and harsh on the palate with little fruit; dried out and unbalanced with some residual sugar but otherwise full of tannin and acidity. Very disappointing, but possibly a bottle which had been open far too long since this was so different to the previous glass tried two months ago. 84/100. Drunk 28-Nov-16. Decanting time N/K.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
