1970 Warre
Bottled by Peatling & Cawdron. Mature red colour, sparkling like a garnet; 60% opaque. Wonderful nose, vibrant and lively with gentle spiced fruit - delicious and dying to be sipped. Warm marmalade on entry, making a definite point on the quality of the experience that was about to follow. Amazing depth to the palate, with a myriad of colours that would rival a drive across autumnal Tuscany. A fabulous collection of flavours. Lively aftertaste with a delicious clove and orange outburst that slowly fades to a delicious warmed milk-chocolate orange. A superb bottle of this excellent port. 93/100. Drunk 03-Dec-16. Decanted 1 day.
