Purchased at auction by Christopher Gee in 2005(?). It is believed that this bottle formed part of the Lot disposed of by the Taylor Fladgate Partnership directly from the Croft cellars in VNG following the acquisition of the Morgan stock and brand.

The auction where Christopher acquired this Morgan was Christie's auction of 16 November 2006. I can also confirm the "believed" provenance as Christie's were marketing this as ex-cellars stock.

Alex is correct, sadly this is the last bottle of the case left - but what finer group of peope to drink it with! Since purchase it has been stored in a wine celler at an old house, so just had some seasonal temperature variation so should be in good order! Will be delivered to TCP next week.

Christopher, please ask someone to place you bottles with mine in Ian Wright's office.

Thanks

Pale centre and a clear rim. A perfumed nose with cherry toffees over a hint of unintegrated alcohol. Smooth entry, with wonderful balance, bringing flavours of brown sugar with soaked raisins and sultanas. The aftertaste was delicate and enjoyable, but a little too short to be ideal. 90/100. Decanted for 4 hours.

I agree with everything in AHB’s note apart from the colour. Not something that people often disagree about.

My TN says: “Darker than most. Light in the mouth—fireside port”.

I rated this 12th out of 14 and AHB had it at 7th.

Thanks again to Christopher for donating his last bottle of this rare gem.
