Bottled 2015. The half bottle given as a welcome gift when checking in to the Yeatman in June 2016 for the Sao Joao festival.

Deep garnet in colour, opaque. Sweet black cherries and bramble fruit on the nose with a touch of fresh sage. Modest flavour entry but builds up nicely on the mid palate with generous black cherry coming through. The late palate has some active tannins but most of the structure comes from the high levels of acidity. The acidity generates a bit of a burn on the aftertaste, but quickly settles down to allow the sweet black cherry and green wood to deliver a long and fine finish. Good port with the benefit of a bit of extra bottle age. 85/100. Opened 06-Jan-17. Pop 'n' pour.
