First bottle from a stash of six. Levels all good, one bottle light in colour, rest good. This is not the light bottle, but lowest level of the others (just above BN).

D+1: Dark colour, perhaps 70% opaque. Nose soft, light fruit, perhaps sherbet. Flavour fabulous; deep, deep plums, and spice; strong backbone, superb. Still some fruit with secondary and tertiary character. Some heat on the pre-dinner, fading to plums and complexity. Fantastic port.

Rating: excellent

"pre-dinner"? Presumably either aftertaste or finish.

Should have been "pre-finish" (auto-incorrect on the phone).

I still have a small amount left for tonight and/or tomorrow, however only around 20% since it was so good from D+1 to D+3. If the other bottles (ignoring the light one) show anywhere near as well as this, I'll be very happy.

D+27 : Still very tasty and enjoyable, but showing its age slightly; would perhaps rate a vg/vg+ tonight, whereas last night's ex rating might have been slightly stingy. Definitely worth staying with a 4-6hr decant for preference, and perhaps going shorter rather than longer where necessary.

D+51 Last glass. Still enjoyable, but not what it was. Still g+ or g/vg, but definitely worth enjoying all on the first evening where possible.
