Av70, decanted 13:30. Dark red, 70% opaque. palate of big red-fruited softness. White pepper mid-palate; long and lovely. A mite lighter than perfect, but that’s nit-picking.

Mature red colour, 90% opaque. Slightly astringent nose, full of crushed leaves and cranberries. Gentle berry fruit on the palate, with soft cracked peppercorns and surprisingly dry tannins which all combine into a lovely mouthful of port. A gentle strawberry aftertaste and a huge berry and cherry finish, which tails off to a high cocoa content dark chocolate finish. This is great port and is still quite young. Served blind, this was guessed to be Dow 1991. 88/100.
