O77, a late-decanted late addition from AHB's friend Bob. Dark dark red, 60% opaque. Nose of wood and fruit. There’s good port underneath the woodiness, but it being late in the evening I did not note its qualities.

Bought by the bottle from the Boot & Flogger. Rose red colour, slight brick tone; very slightly hazy and around 40% opaque. Not much showing on the nose but the entry is nicely balanced with plenty of mature, spicy fruit. Gentle tannins appear on the mid-palate but the real support for the fruit comes from the acidity of the wine. The fruit is fragrant and spiced, if slightly woody, but the aftertaste is really hot, with the heat lasting a long time! Soft mature fruit on the aftertaste lasts a long time, a wonderful cinnamon infused sweet maraschino cherry. Lovely mature port. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 1966. 89/100.
