Mature red appearance, 90% opaque. Purple passion flowers on the nose; smooth entry with an incredible perfume and a slight soapiness to the flavour - which combine to give something rather odd! Gentle tannins with lots of floral perfume on the palate. Soapy aftertaste precedes a sticky and sweet finish. This has a very odd flavour profile, off-puttingly soapy and floral. Served blind, this was guessed to be Fonseca 1983. 85/100. Drunk 19-Apr-17. Decanted 13 hours.
