Deep garnet red, just opaque at the centre. Showing little on the nose at first, a swirl releases some soft fruit. A lively fruity and balanced entry; lots of mature fruit dominates the mid-palate with an excellent balance. This port is full of fruit at all stages, including the finish. A delicious and balanced fine port. Served blind this was guessed to be Warre 1979 LBV. 90/100.

GM87, brought by BMHR ‘for’ JDAW. Dark dark red, 80% opaque. Dry early-palate, with some grit, and mint and menthol. Slightly hollow mid-palate; Dry late-palate too.
