Drunk at the SQVP Night Tasting.

Deep burnished red with a slight brick tone; slightly cloudy appearance making the wine opaque. Slightly harsh on the nose with the alcohol showing over some sweet red jelly. A lovely texture on the palate, gentle entry with lovely rounded edges. The mid-palate is more assertive with bigger cocoa tannins all over the tongue. The tannins slowly fade to allow the raspberry jelly fruit to come through. There is lots of acidity on the late palate which supports a nice fragrance. The aftertaste is hot with a touch of peppercorn that leads to a lovely red jelly finish. Nice fireside port. Guessed to be Tua 1987. 87/100. Drunk 07-Sep-17. Decanted 6 hours.
