65% opacity, red-brown, amber rim. Cloudy. Plummy nose. Full mouthfeel, lively, rich sweetness, red fruit, chocolate. Lovely port, nowhere near mature. The GC80 bottle showed much younger than the GC80 magnum alongside. The bottle evolution was consistent with other GC80 bottles I have had, so I would say the magnum was showing the more unexpected evolution.

Very dark red colour, younger looking than the magnum tasted alongside this glass; 90% opaque. Nothing on the nose but lots of swirling gives some stewed red fruit. Despite the restraint on the palate the palate is lovely with lots of lively red fruit with cinnamon and dark bramble fruit. A delicious, youthful mouthful. Soft tannins show on the aftertaste giving a slightly chewy sensaton. A bit cloying on the finish, reminiscent of red jelly babies. A bit unbalanced but by no means a bad port. 86/100. Decanted 5 hours.

GC80 (single): dark dark red, 90% opaque. Mid sweetness, full, soft and round, mid-weight, better-than-mid length. Good not great.
