On Thursday 19th October 2017 a small emergency was held at the Boot & Flogger, with five attendees. The theme was ‘Mature V.P. or L.B.V.’, blind, and both types showed beautifully.

Ck67, labelled JC and brought on his behalf by JDAW. Decanted 3pm, in a proper decanter. Glorious red, 40% opaque. Evolved in the glass. Early evening heat and grape-pip bitterness showed strongly. Dry, too dry, but very long. But by late evening it had opened and richened, seeming sweeter, and the bitterness being nicely melded into the whole.

A third place from MPM, but it would have done better in a very late-evening vote.

35% opacity. rich red. Not much nose early on. Gentle heat along the palate, dryness, cherries. Long finish and wonderful sweetness.
