By the glass from the Boot & Flogger. Deep red with no purple, a wide rim and an opaque centre. Nosing of crushed nettles and sulphur, probably suffering from having been opened for too long. Balanced entry with powerful acidity on the mid-palate. Dry and dusty tannins with stewed sour cherry fruit accompanied by nice undertones of dark chocolate. Searing acidity on the aftertaste, hot and burning, but this slowly settles to a pepper, dark chocolate and sour cherry. Great length that eventually turns to a sticky cherry drops finish. 88/100. Drunk 19-Apr-17.
