From a half bottle shared between the people preparing, decanting and pouring the wines on the day. Muddy brown colour and appearance, full of sediment; light and faded in tone when filtered and revealing an opacity of around 10%. Faintly smelling of prunes and kumquats giving an overall impression of being very light and distinctly acidic. Hollow and gentle entry, bringing prunes and apple acidity. Dried out and bereft of fruit, but nevertheless harmonious and gently ethereal. A surprisingly big aftertaste, full of dried herbs, leads on to a very long finish full of licorice root. The finish is a touch medicinal, but surprisingly impressive. 84/100. 08-Jun-17. Decanted 6 hours.
