Drunk at the Factory House on the occasion of The Port Forum's 10th Anniversary dinner. A magnum acquired ex-cellars in June 2014.

Brown and light in colour, looking faded and possibly oxidised. Slight smell of cocktail cherries on the nose, a little harsh and acidic. Gentle flavours and structure on entry with soft brown sugar migrating to show gentle coffee tannins. Lots of coffee appears on the mid-palate and leads to a soft and elegant, gently sweet aftertaste and a dry espresso finish that gets quite chewy at the end. Much better than expected from the initial pale and faded appearance. 85/100. 21-Jun-17. Decanted 3½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
