Tasted in the BA Galleries Lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3 (along with the Warre 2000 colheita). No more than 6 days old since this bottle was not in the lounge when I last visited.
Deep red with a purple tone, opaque in the centre. Fresh blackcurrants and blackberries on the nose. Gentle texture on the palate, full of sweet fruit backed by soft tannins. The tannins build nicely as the fruit develops until they combine to give a delicious mouthful of blackberries and cornflowers. The acidity drives some heat on the aftertaste before the tannins take over the finish to deliver a dry cocoa sensation, scented by bramble jelly. Much nicer than the last bottle tasted at 30,000 feet. 88/100. 17-Sep-17.
